Wairarapa Moana is rich in cultural, historical and ecological values. The wetland complex has ecological values of national and international significance, such as supporting endangered local and migratory bird species. Some of these values are under threat and this is the foundation for the submission of an Application-for-Ramsar-status.pdf (PDF, 51 pages, 1768 KB).
